2006 Tournaments

Sky River Tournament

The MRFC Adrenaline 92 GU-14 team was victorious this last weekend taking home the GU-14 Championship at the Sky River Tournament in Monroe. In a well played championship match that concluded with PK's, the Adrenaline team prevailed. Congratulations ladies and best of luck in the upcoming season!!!

MRFC 94 "Bulls" Win Camas Tournament

The boys U12 Bulls had a great time July 28th through 30th in Camas Washington (near Portland). The competition was very good. We lost our first game 2-0, but then shut out the next three teams while scoring a total of 14 goals. This was a championship by best points after four games. The 0-9-10-10 points was enough to edge out the other teams including the one that beat us on Friday night. Camas has turf fields as well as well maintained grass fields. It was a very good tournament and we would be happy to play there again next year.

We still have room for another player to complete this team of very talented players. Please call coach David Minteer at 253 862-0561 for more information.

The other contending team won their first game 4-3 which gave them 9 points to our 8 on the first game. They shut out the rest of their games as well and won the bracket 34 points to our 33. Great play by our team in all games and boy was it hot!!

MRFC SANTOS CHAMPIONS

Thanks Again for all your support

p>This past weekend at the Memorial Cup at Starfire, MRFC sent seven teams, and four of those seven made it all the way to the Finals!

All four played against a club called the Whitecaps. They came in from British Columbia and out of the 10 teams they brought, eight were crowned champions. Most of the teams from that club would be the equivalent of our ODP teams here or at least P1 or P2.

Making it into the Finals were:

GU-13 Thunder
Lost 3-1 with Anna Goad getting the lone goal.

GU-15 United
Lost 2-0

GU-16 Storm
Lost 1-0

GU-17 Santos
Won 2-1 in OT Holland Crook getting the tying goal and Jordan Crook getting the winner in OT.

Other teams representing the club were: GU-14 Adrenaline
GU-16 Blitz Blue
GU-18 MRFC88

Congratulations to the Finalists and to all the MRFC teams. With the exception of the Whitecap club, MRFC sent more teams to the finals than any other club.

We had a great weekend in Yakima. We were the champions of 11 teams from Oregon and Washington. This was a Five a Side tournament. This was great fun and a face paced experience.
